Located a few miles north of Los Angeles, California is a fabulous city known as Burbank. Burbank is a city of more than 100,000 residents and is best known all over the world as the “Media Capital of the World” because some of the world’s greatest media production companies are located here.
Burbank is named after David Burbank who was a dentist that purchased many acres of the land in the area during the 19th century. The city grew steadily over the years and was incorporated as a city in 1911. By the 1920s, the entertainment and movie business had moved into Burbank. Columbia Pictures, Walt Disney, and Warner Brothers were just a few companies who expanded and moved into Burbank. By the 1960s, NBC had built a multi-million dollar facility in Burbank as well. Burbank is now the home of the famous television nighttime talk show, The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson.
Today, Burbank, California is a hotspot for tourists. People come from all over the world to tour the movie studios and possibly even to see a famous movie star or two. The city is a middle to upper class neighborhood with several upscale restaurants and shopping opportunities. In addition to its popularity for movies and fine dining, Burbank is also home to the Burbank Philharmonic Orchestra and several other cultural and theatrical events.
Burbank, California is also popular for its ties with Amelia Earhart. It was the place where she was married and lived. Amelia Earhart began many of her flights from the Burbank Airport, including the last flight she took before her disappearance. According to her husband, George Palmer Putnam, she loved Burbank and was proud to call it her home.
Burbank is the home of many famous people, as well as the home of some of the world’s top media and movie studios. This is why it is one of America’s most popular tourist destinations. It is full of sun, fun, and movie stars. In addition to the glamour of the big screen, there are also many very nice parks, museums, horseback riding, and shopping venues throughout Burbank.
While driving down some of the streets in Burbank, one might see famous people driving some very fancy cars. Expensive, fancy cars are very commonly seen driving in and around Burbank. There are car hire agencies that have the option of leasing a luxury car. You may not be a movie star, but you can drive around Burbank just like the stars. However, be very careful when driving a leased car on one of Burbank’s busy interstates. With five-six lanes of traffic, the roadways still get very congested during peak driving hours and car accidents are common. The best driving tip for Burbank is to be alert and be patient while during through the city. Burbank is also very close to the Pacific Ocean. Many visitors will lease a car for a day or two to drive to the beach. It is a great way to spend a weekend afternoon or anytime you want to go enjoy the sun and sand at some of California’s best beaches
